The US will support more than 32 thousand Honduran coffee and bean producers

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), through the Food for Progress initiative, today launched the second stage of the project “Sustainable Agricultural Improvement (MAS 2.0)” executed by TechnoServe.

The purpose is for 32,000 small and medium coffee and bean producers to substantially increase their income, prioritizing marginalized communities.

Also, the areas with high potential to increase in a sustainable way the production and quality of coffee and beans that includes food security.

The project will be carried out in the departments of El Paraíso, Francisco Morazán, Comayagua, Olancho, La Paz, Santa Bárbara, Intibucá, Cortés and Yoro.

They will implement an integrated process of assistance to producers with the objective of increasing productivity through technical training, appropriate use of technologies, adaptation of best agronomic practices, linking producers with formal markets, allowing them to have sustainable crops and a considerable increase in their income.
