The first trip of the president of Costa Rica will be to Washington

The president of the Republic of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado, chose the US capital, Washington D.C as the first destination of his trips abroad.

The press office of the Presidential House said on Wednesday morning that the president will be talking about the trip that he will take next week in the company of the ministers of Security and Environment; Michael Soto and Carlos Manuel Rodríguez, respectively.

The information about the trip of the president was revealed by Minister Soto in an interview this morning on the radio program Hablando Claro, which airs on Radio Columbia. “The agenda is being developed,” said Soto.

He said that high level meetings are being scheduled with officials of the Drug Control Administration (DEA, for its acronym in English). As well as meetings with the International Office of Antinarcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) are also analyzed.

In environmental matters, meetings are being arranged with organizations linked to this area.
