Assembly of El Salvador approves official trips of the president

Salvador Sanchez Ceren, president of the Republic of El Salvador, will be allowed to travel for official missions, since this afternoon the Legislative Assembly approved with 46 votes the request made by the presidency.

The application for the official trips begins from July 1 of this year to May 31, 2019. The requested permission is to participate in official missions and events, including the canonization of Monsignor Romero.

Other scheduled events are: second conference for the Prosperity of the Northern Triangle, inauguration of new leaders, visit to Cuba to evaluate advances of bilateral cooperation agenda, meeting of the United Nations Organizations in New York, Ibero-American Summit of heads of State, Summit of Heads of State of the Secretariat of the Central American Integration System (SICA).

Sánchez Cerén said that the license is to meet “commitments of national interest” that may arise, in addition to “matters of a personal nature that arise”

At the request there were no abstentions, but a deputy who voted disagree.
